Melissa Mayer was our realtor in Sharon, MA. I interviewed 4 realtors from different companies and she stood out from the first. Her marketing plan, knowledge of the local market and her enthusiasm distinguished her from the others. Compass has an extensive digital presence which is a huge plus in bringing the house to the attention of out of town buyers. Melissa was instrumental in helping us attack the problem of cleaning out 50 years of memories. Her contacts were superb and She handled it all. She was open to discussing pricing and is a very thoughtful person. She also is great at dealing with anxious sellers!! I was very impressed with the digital campaign, the professional pictures, the open house schedule. It was so professional and superbly done. Her team is also very nice and competent. My texts were answered within minutes and the sale went remarkably smoothly. In the end, we sold the house to a couple from the mid-west and the national reach of Compass really helped. Finally, Melissa is friendly and thoughtful. I trusted her with the details of our sale and she handled having 4 siblings involved in the process without difficulty. I’m not sure how I can express or even put into words the first class, extremely personal experience I had selling my childhood home with Melissa Mayer. She and her team of caring knowledgeable professionals are amazing! The 1st thing I noticed was the response time - Melissa communicates daily. She kept me on track and was on top of everything. She set up a timeline of what needed to happen and when. Our first meeting Melissa came prepared with a full market analysis, what the inventory looked like and provided me with my options. She was professional, caring and compassionate as this was a difficult time for me. She didn't rush me, allowed me to process & made a plan together. She was flexible with what I needed even if it was not in the plan. My mom passed away and I was solely in charge of everything to do with her death, including selling her house. From my initial call through the closing, Melissa reassured me, guided me and her support was irreplaceable. She starts the process letting you know, she will be there every step of the way and she was not exaggerating. Things I never even thought of, from knowing the exact timing of when to list to staging. The QUALITY of the pictures, video and marketing was insane! I was blown away. The listing had premium placement on all agent facing platforms. Before that happens, there was so much to do. The "to do" list was overwhelming - but what I didn't know is that Melissa and her team all working together would make this process seem like a walk in the park. The house had to be packed up, cleaned, emptied and staged before we could even get pictures. We did this in less than two weeks - not even joking. The team that Melissa works with were unreal. Incredibly professional, caring and efficient. It was very important to me that my mom's belongings be given to people/places that could use them. Melissa connected me with Heather from "Just Chuck it Junk Removal" but they did more than junk removal (they reuse, repurpose and recycle). Everything is packed up with care and you know if it can be used, repurposed or recycled it will happen. They were remarkable. Working with Melissa is like being a VIP at a resort. She ushers you through this stressful process with such ease because she, too, is incredible at her job. Everyone kept telling me to wait until Spring to sell, but not Melissa, she did her HW, she knew the market and she was right! WE not only got asking but well over asking. She knew my home (being smaller) would get swept away in the a flooded inventory. She is on top of the pulse of the real-estate market. Her insight is unmatched! Melissa assured me that could have the house sold & closed in a month or two and she came through. Our plan was a month to empty, prep and dress and it was on the market for 7 days. We had multiple offers. She had a spreadsheet to me after the last scheduled open house with all the details so I could compare them side by side. Looking at everything from how the buyers were financing, to contingencies. Her positive communication during the open houses and the way she handles it all is staging to me. The way she cares for the details are flawless. Her negotiation skills are incredible. The buyers came back with a few counters and she negotiated it all in my favor! So much happens after you accept the offer and this is when it gets technical and trickly. Attorneys, contracts, agents, banks, and paperwork. Her ability to talk to all these players, keep everything on track and ensure my needs were met is nothing short of impressive. It's reassuring to know I had an expert in my corner working for me and taking care of my interests. I could be as involved as I wanted (manage it or sit in awe & and let the skilled professionals with their comprehensive knowledge get the job done). I can’t recommend working with Melissa enough. She will be an advocate for you & won't stop working for you. You are not a number. Melissa went above and beyond to ensure I was happy & taken care of every step of the way. When my mom finally let go of her dream to live out her days in the house she moved into when she was a bride 70 years ago, our family shifted into high gear. We curated her possessions and moved her into assisted living, where she has a new lease on life.
